Powerful Hymn

My latest, most favorite song. I cannot hear this without tears. Oh, the riches of His glorious grace!

Before the throne of God above
I have a strong and perfect plea,
A great high Priest whose Name is Love,
Who ever lives and pleads for me.
My name is graven on His hands,
My name is written on His heart.
I know that while in heaven He stands
No tongue can bid me thence depart,
No tongue can bid me thence depart.

When Satan tempts me to despair
And tells me of the guilt within,
Upward I look and see Him there
Who made an end to all my sin.
Because the sinless Savior died
My sinful soul is counted free,
For God, the Just, is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me,
To look on Him and pardon me.

Behold Him there, the risen Lamb,
My perfect, spotless righteousness,
The great unchangeable I AM,
The King of glory and of grace.
One with Himself, I cannot die,
My soul is purchased by His blood.
My life is hid with Christ on high,
With Christ, my Savior and my God!

One with Himself, I cannot die,
My soul is purchased by His blood.
My life is hid with Christ on high,
With Christ, my Savior and my God!

We will spend the rest of our lives getting this hymn.
When I spent time with the sisters of Mary in Darmstadt at 16, I could not vocalize in any way quite what they were imprinting me with. My closest friends on my return charged me with elitism. Because that is how an early transmission of things can come across. The truth is something like this. Imagine a solid 3dimensional version of this hymn hitting a youngster in his solar plexus. Imagine the sudden realisation that we can have a deep revelation, a deep anchor to concepts surrounding the Blood of Jesus and what was bought for us.

I'd heard the hymn...ofcourse. I'd heard sermons on the Blood in our Baptist Church. But this was coming from somewhere deep inside the sisters themselves.Grace is something like a force. A floodtide that has to spill out from our spirits to touch other people.
